Summary
Plans and conducts work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, application, adaptation and modification of standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems encountered.
Responsibilities
- Plans architectural layout, prepares detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small buildings and portions of major buildings.
- Prepares specifications and related documents.
- Prepares building material interface details for review by senior personnel.
- Prepares architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models.
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other project engineering disciplines. Review design drawings and documents submitted by suppliers and subcontractors for compliance with architectural and engineering requirements.
- Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in architectural work.
- Assists in on-the-job training and development of people assigned.
- Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Evaluates, selects applicable procedures and criteria, and applies standard architectural presentation techniques, using independent judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
- Performs assignments that have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for architectural discipline within a global business unit.
- Performs architectural tasks having some degree of complexity.
- Reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of roles played by other disciplines on the project.
- Familiarity with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects.
- Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) applicable to the discipline.
