POSITION OVERVIEW :
The Payroll Operations and Employee Service Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of employee payroll tasks in partnership with the Managed Services Provider. This includes processing and analyzing reports according to established schedules and maintaining all data required for legal, tax, or audit purposes according to established department processes. Responsibilities include handling service inquiries from employees, managers, and business-unit stakeholders to provide information and resolve issues.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Serve as a reliable and collaborative team member, partnering with other payroll associates and functional business partners to achieve desired results.
- Perform accurate and timely entry of job, salary, and personal data that is not interfaced from the HRIS system to the payroll system.
- Manage workload and payroll processing deadlines with Managed Services Provider to ensure payroll is accurate, complete, and timely in compliance with internal control procedures and requirements.
- Analyze and resolve data discrepancies between the HRIS and payroll database systems.
- Review, correct, and approve data inputs; Analyze pre- and post-payroll audit reports to identify and correct errors.
- Provide support to the garnishment process, partnering with managed services where required.
- Comply with all audit requirements and internal control standards for supporting documentation and accuracy.
- Function as Subject Matter Expert regarding aspects of all time and payroll system functionality.
- Provide employee support regarding personnel records, time input, earnings, deductions, and tax.
- Support HR Operational Services, Benefits, Compensation, and Finance colleagues with all requests.
- Enter, follow up, and resolve tickets using the ServiceNow and ADP CRM tools.
- Ensure Confidentiality, Data Privacy, Data Security, and SOX requirements are always met.
- Prepare and process off-cycle payrolls to ensure compliance with state regulations relating to final pay.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience (5,000 EEs)
- Experience processing payroll on ADP GlobalView, Ceridian Dayforce, or SAP, preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the APA preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end Payroll Processing Cycle (Input, Process, Output).
- Ability to research, understand, and apply intermediate federal, state, and local regulations to payroll, labor, and employment.
- Superior analytical and organizational skills focusing on synthesizing information, using sound judgment, formulating conclusions, and articulating data meaningfully to stakeholders and customers.
- Exceptional time management skills, ability to prioritize, multitask, and balance competing priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment that is highly customer service oriented.
- Able to manage workplace relationships with various stakeholders; must proactively resolve issues with employees, businesses, and other departments.
- Ability to listen to internal customers, gather information, and assess the root cause of issues; accurately communicate resolution and maintain relationships with employees and stakeholders.
