Structural Engineer – Piping Support Design
Location: On-Site Preferred (Remote Considered)
Per Diem: Available for candidates residing 50 miles from Kennedy Space Center (KSC)
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required (NO C2C)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Structural Engineer specializing in Piping Support Design to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves locating and designing supports for various piping systems, performing structural calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AISC and ASME B31.3. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a 3D model environment, collaborating closely with pipe stress engineers, layout personnel, and other engineering disciplines to deliver cost-effective and high-quality designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and locate supports for various piping systems, ensuring structural integrity.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations in compliance with AISC and ASME B31.3 standards.
- Collaborate with pipe stress engineers and layout personnel to develop optimized support solutions.
- Work closely with vendors and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate designs.
- Utilize structural analysis programs to evaluate loads and stresses on piping supports.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and best practices, producing designs that meet project and regulatory requirements.
- Work within a 3D model environment to design and analyze pipe support structures.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or related field).
- Familiarity with AISC and ASME B31.3 industry codes and standards.
- Prior experience using structural analysis programs.
- Hands-on experience in 3D modeling environments.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or active pursuit of licensure.
- Experience using GTStrudel for pipe support analysis.
- Experience with Pipe Support Modeler software.
- Previous experience working on Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Energy (DOE) projects.
