Key Responsibilities
Operational Accounting:
- Manage daily cash flow and corporate borrowing strategies to ensure financial stability.
- Conduct daily bank account monitoring, reconciling discrepancies with general ledgers.
- Oversee daily accounting registers, ensuring accurate general ledger postings and customer invoicing.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through necessary adjustments.
- Supervise the processing of customer sales returns and vendor purchase returns.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across multiple warehouse locations.
- Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support external audits, coordinating necessary documentation and compliance efforts.
- Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales and use tax reports.
- Compile borrowing base certificates and periodic reports for financial institutions.
- Manage technical issues related to accounting software to ensure smooth operations.
- Negotiate and oversee corporate contracts to optimize cost savings and compliance.
Credit Management:
- Establish and enforce corporate credit policies to minimize financial risk.
- Manage credit terms and mitigate bad debt exposure.
- Ensure strong cash flow through proactive collection strategies.
- Analyze accounts receivable trends and identify potential financial risks.
- Secure necessary protections, such as credit insurance or personal guarantees.
- Resolve customer credit discrepancies and oversee payment processing.
- Administer and negotiate credit insurance policies to safeguard financial assets.
Human Resources & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations across multiple states.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, including updates to the employee handbook.
- Verify new hire eligibility via EVERIFY and support onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, 401(k), and vacation policies.
- Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with a focus on operational accounting and credit management.
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly in Excel.
- Expertise in accounting software applications (Aderant, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and implement strategic improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
