DIRECTOR OF HOSPITAL ADMITTING
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and directing the admissions process in a healthcare facility, including hospital, doctor's office, nursing homes and other related business.
Develops hospital policies related to admissions, ER Registration and Pre-testing in collaboration with Hospital Administrators, coordinates department's activities with Financial Management, Administration and Utilization Review.

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and directing the admissions process in a healthcare facility, including hospital, doctor's office, nursing homes and other related business.
Develops hospital policies related to admissions, ER Registration and Pre-testing in collaboration with Hospital Administrators, coordinates department's activities with Financial Management, Administration and Utilization Review.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and manage an efficient Admitting Department, ER Registration and Pre-Testing Department.
- Cooperates with all other departments with the hospitals and physician to ensure prompt admission and placement of the patient into appropriate setting.
- Design systems and methods utilizing computer applications to compile accurate statistics, census and billing information.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions and performance evaluations.
- Oversee such processes and prepayment plans, self-pay admission and discuss special arrangements for payment with Financial Administrations on behalf of the patient and physicians. Create an estimated bill for all elective surgeries/deliveries.
- Oversee the preparation of payroll and scheduling including prior approval for overtime or additional hours.
- Prepare reports for Administrative and regulatory guidelines
- Attend meeting in accordance with the hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop policies and procedures, including departmental orientations and annual competency assessment tools.
- Maintain knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations and reimbursement.
- Develops, implements and maintains revenue generating strategies related to admission and patient capacity.
- Evaluate staff performance in collaboration with the Manager and make recommendations of salary increase and or disciplinary actions.
- Ensures compliance with staff orientation requirements, annual reorientation, assessment needs, trainings and annual physical requirements.
- Prepare budgets for the carious cost centers under his/her directions monitor expense reports.
- Select office supplies and equipment to be purchased.

- Performs other duties as assigned or when necessary, and unrelated duties in times of emergency.
- Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration or business administration a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or similar field preferred.
- 2-3 years' experience in healthcare administration at the managerial level required, director level preferred.
- Prior experience in healthcare admissions preferred.

Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
