Lab Technician

Metallurgical Lab Technician

• $15-$18/hour
• Must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift

As the Metallurgical laboratory technician you will assist in day-to-day lab operations involving metallic elements. You would perform routine technical tasks, including operating and maintaining equipment, as well as conducting analysis and experimental procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate cutting torches
• Transcribe sample information to chart (cobble number and dimensions)
• Mark cobble with corresponding sample number
• Torch cut sample piece from cobble, and mark with sample number
• Prepare samples to a clean surface using a stationary sander
• Mark cobble as needed with paint
  
  

Skills/Qualifications

• 2 years lab experience preferred.
• Experience working with steel
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of reading tape measure and micrometers
• An analytical mindset, self-motivated, and good communication skills
• Able to work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Will be subject to pre-employment drug screening.
