Position Summary
Maintain effective control of the backlog from order entry through shipment. Ensure each order is planned and acted upon in a timely manner, while providing as much visibility as required for a smooth flow of material. This will include identifying and reconciling problems or potential problems through interface with various departments.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaison with Contracts on loading and lead-time of all new Sales Orders
o Monitor the sales backlog for his / her planner code
o Ensure Delivery notes are raised in a timely manner with contracts to ensure
o Ensures timely delivery of all parts via Receiving and shipping departments
o Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload.
o Expedites and schedules orders to meet company and financial requirements.
o Process changes, reschedules and outside processing that are required to accomplish the production schedule goals.
o Places purchase orders.
o Determines time requirements for specific jobs and translates the production plan into a specific time schedule.
o Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP messages. Negotiate price and deliveries that are consistent with schedule needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level : (Required) : Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study / Area of Experience :
2-4 years of experience in Planning
5 years of experience in the production control field, including material / inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment.

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66% hours each work day doing the following activities : stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and / or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
