Production Operator
Job Summary:
As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. Your primary goal will be to ensure the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.

You will regularly be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, use your hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, and/or hear. You may occasionally sit. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. You will require the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with the exception of high noise areas. Proper personal safety equipment must be used while performing this job, and that equipment is dictated by the plant safety guidelines.
Scope:
This role is within the Manufacturing Plant and reports to the Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor/Lead, or Production Lead. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with one year of experience in cross-functional roles within the plastics industry, specifically in manufacturing fields such as colorant, mixing, extrusion, blending, industrial operations, and mechanical.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, start, and run all machinery, ensuring adherence to operating and safety procedures as well as ISO standards.
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications and insert them into machinery, or ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and insert pre-blended materials into machinery.
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
- Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Examine materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
- May take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation and provide instructions on any batch adjustments if needed.
- Refer issues/problems to the Production Lead or Production/Shift Supervisor for disposition.
- Perform all required machine cleaning.
- Complete and maintain all required system inputs/transactions, ensuring data integrity.
- Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
- Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
