Job Title: Production Spray Painter
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Shifts:
- 2nd Shift: 2:15 PM – 10:15 PM (Monday-Friday)
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Sunday-Thursday)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Production Spray Painter to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining spray guns and other painting equipment to apply protective coatings and finishes. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare part surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other treatments to ensure proper adhesion.
- Set up and operate spray guns, paint mixers, and other painting equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to identify correct paint types, colors, and application methods.
- Mix and thin paints to the proper consistency to achieve optimal coating results.
- Apply primers and topcoats to interior and exterior surfaces of parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Ensure coatings meet required tolerances and customer specifications.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects, ensuring proper thickness, texture, and overall quality.
- Perform touch-ups and rework as needed, using techniques such as feathering, shading, and blending.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including records of paint usage and quality checks.
- Follow company SOPs and safety guidelines, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to support Lean manufacturing practices.
- Attend work regularly and complete overtime when required to meet production schedules.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience setting up and operating spray guns, paint mixers, and other painting equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to apply coatings with precision.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork mindset.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with industry-standard safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Annual baseline hearing test required.

Work Environment & Safety

Experience & Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 – 3 years of painting experience preferred, but candidates eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
