Shipping/Packer

Nesco Resource is looking for a Shipping Associate located in Bethel, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM (Shift hours have small flexibility)

Pay: From $17.51/Hour depending on experience

Position Summary: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics, a high work ethic, and proficient forklift operating skills. This role involves managing the shipping and receiving of products, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse.
• Prepare and process shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging products for delivery.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or other records to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect and report any damaged goods or discrepancies in shipments.
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse, adhering to safety and operational standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and resolve any shipping issues.
• Use inventory management systems to track and manage stock levels.
• Perform regular inventory counts and audits as required.
• Assist in training new staff members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have forklift experience and be able to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
• High work ethic with a commitment to quality and productivity.
• 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50lbs.
• Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
