Keeps production supplied by retrieving materials and supplies; operating a forklift.
Duties:
- Safely operates and maintains material handling equipment to load and/or unload trucks and trailers and move material around the facility.
- Maintains clean and orderly shipping and receiving area by observing established housekeeping procedures and safety standards.
- Observes proper use of personal protective equipment, to include, but not limited to ear plugs and safety glasses.
- Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
- Must be able to follow both the MRO and the inventory receiving processes.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, or other records to confirm proper shipment/receipt.
- Understands the importance of accurate receiving compared to the packing list and the purchase order to ensure timely payment and proper communication with the accounting department.
- Prepares and affixes labels on packed cartons and raw material to include customer required labels and/or Precision Metal Work's labels.
- Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments.
- Reports to Supplier Quality any items that need to be rejected and/or refuses incoming items if possible related to supplier specifications or manufacturing needs
- Must be able to perform all computer functions as they pertain to their job including, but not limited to: RF Scanners, PLEX, Microsoft Office, and usage of customer websites.
- Properly stocks the shelves and marks boxes with proper SKU #, barcode and promptly put in its proper place in related area.
- Other general warehouse duties as needed, which may include maintaining warehouse orderliness and assisting other departments.
