Position Summary

Our factory in Crete, Nebraska stands as one of the largest manufacturers in the area and one of the largest wet pet food manufacturing facilities in the U.S. Together, we proudly produce over one thousand tons of pet food per day, including renowned brands such as Alpo®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Pro Plan®, Friskies®, and Nestlé Purina Veterinary Diets®. We also do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Situated just 25 miles from the factory, the city of Lincoln offers convenience to many of our associates who prefer the amenities of larger city living. They embrace the short commute from Lincoln to the quainter city of Crete, where our factory thrives.

As a Controls Tech Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.

  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory
  • Provide programming and electrical support on plant capital projects
  • Implement control systems software upgrade
  • Provides instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff
  • Assist with training of maintenance personnel

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline AND 1 years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical/ hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI-systems

OR

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 3 years of applicable experience in PLC software and Electrical/ hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI-systems

Other:

  • Must be available to work 2nd Shift - 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm CST

The approximate pay range for this position is $62,000.00 to $82,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
