POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Wastewater Pretreatment Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the Safety, Operation, Housekeeping, and Maintenance of the pretreatment plant. This role includes managing the Screen room, Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit, Truck Bay, Pump room, Odor control, MCC, Retort Pond, all WWTP outdoor areas, Tote cleaning, Chemical skids and Tank levels, Tank farm, and Blower room. The lead operator ensures the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater, compliance with environmental regulations, and the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and monitor all equipment and processes within the pretreatment plant.
- Perform and supervise routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to and enforce all facility safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Participate in and lead ongoing training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
PREFERRED:
Georgia Level 3 Wastewater license or greater
