Position Summary
Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages, and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.
As a Materials Planning Coordinator, you’ll manage assigned commodities to ensure 100% availability to meet needs for scheduled production activities. In addition, you’ll administer materials payable accurately and according to contract terms. Make an impact on our processes as you help us deliver the quality products pets love and people trust.
- Review inventory reports (on hand expected) and use inventory status to determine commodity ordering requirements to meet production schedule needs.
- Place delivery orders against approved corporate contracts using SAP.
- Work closely with suppliers (and/or hired carriers) to schedule just-in-time deliveries and Procurement levels with regards to contracts and plant needs.
- Dispatch communication of new purchase orders to vendors and delivery appointments with carriers.
- Monitor/follow-up on expected shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Expedite or modify deliveries (as needed) to support changes in the production schedule/commodity inventory position.
- Organize daily rail report using Ravens rail reporting. Calculate new and available cars and distribute to appropriate personnel.
- Update Track sheet with daily demurrage.
- Provide settlement with the railroad monthly if necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 1 years' experience performing administrative or secretarial duties in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, military or related environment.
The approximate pay range for this position is $42,000 to $62,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
