Job Description
You will provide technical support for the factory in regard to all quality aspects during production while upholding safety and quality standards. The first several months of this role are project related with the goal of planning and developing the department as we approach operational startup. This position will require travel up to 50% for training purposes to other Nestle Purina factory locations within the U.S. Once the Williamsburg Township facility reaches operation, there will be little to no travel required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee process to ensure products produced in the factory adhere to the standards of quality and food safety.
- Lead operational support and improvement activities for the quality stream including but not limited to QA checks, problem solving, project implementation, and standard creation, revision, and implementation.
- Act as the shift Champion for Quality and serves as the QA technical expert for their area of responsibility. Provide related coaching to all associates.
- Lead and support the hold management process, status control and final disposition. Conduct sampling and testing of hold product.
- Lead daily sensory product program. Maintain finished product reference samples and photo standards.
- Support the factory's main laboratory and satellite laboratories including equipment upkeep, calibration, internal control plans, and training.
- Maintain QA programs including but not limited to Quality Collaboratives, References and Proficiency samples.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months experience working in a lab, quality, food manufacturing, or related environment
Additional Information
- This position requires up to 50% travel for training purposes in the first few months.
- Once the Williamsburg Township facility is operational, there will be little to no travel required.
- The schedule options once the Williamsburg Township facility approaches operational startup will be 6pm-6am, operating on 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on).
