Nestle in Springville, UT manufactures Stouffer's Frozen Meals. We are currently hiring for the Checkweigher-Reworks Operator position. Openings are available on 2nd shift. Shifts are 10 hrs rotating schedules.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Obtains proper recipe and packaging procedures before start of shift.
2. Ensures that necessary forms, calibrated thermometers, and correct reject stickers are available on the line.
3. Monitors variances by performing necessary functions in the Waste Compass and taking appropriate action when variances are negative.
4. Calibrates gram scale and checkweigher properly.
5. Checks metal detector with ferrous and nonferrous wands.
6. Ensures set points are operating.
7. Reworks product when it is rejected at the checkweigh scale.
8. Checks calibrations of metal detector every hour.
9. Clears jams in the checkweigh area when necessary.
10. Performs daily MIR checks on component weights, tray sealing and coding operations according to the specified frequency.
11. Models the Springville Compass in all work-related activities.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned by Team Leader
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
1. Understand verbal and written instructions in English.
2. Must follow safety rules and procedures including the wearing of safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses and whizard gloves where appropriate.
3. Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA policies and the food safety program.
4. Identify sub-standard ingredients, products, or procedures and take corrective action to insure GMP's.
5. Must be able to transport oneself to, from, and around one's designated work area on concrete surfaces which are often uneven, wet, and slippery.
6. Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms, or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.
7. Work every scheduled day and arrive at workstation at or before the scheduled starting time.
8. Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members.
9. Must be able to weigh commodities accurately.
10. Must be able to add, subtract, and multiply.
11. Must have legible handwriting.
12. Work in temperatures ranging from 35 degrees F. to 100 degrees F.
13. Must be able to stand and maintain a position at a workstation for a 9-10 hour period with two 15-minute breaks. One half hour is allotted for a lunch break.
14. Able to work at least 40 hours per week on an assigned shift with some daily overtime required in case of emergencies and weekend overtime required.
15. Is able to function effectively as a team member or in one-on-one situations, and with minimum supervision.
16. Develop and prepare necessary reports, and maintain daily documentation...
17. Clear product jams from a production line safely and quickly.
