Position Summary
The Materials Management Specialist is a Salary Exempt position within the Supply Chain Distribution Center network. They are responsible for a variety of tasks relating to co-packaging across the Supply Chain network. The Materials Management Specialist works collaboratively with the Divisions co-packers, supply planners, TAG, Marketing, Corporate QA, and DC managers. The Material Management Specialist continuously improves co-packing processes / projects for the Supply Chain Network.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follows all company standard operating procedures as they relate to Safety, Quality, Operations, and People
- Under the direction of the site DC Manager, works closely with supply planners to:
- Coordinate project details by determing storage of materials and/or arrange appointments to deliver materials
- Review potential project details with Co-packer (vendors) and escalate or communicate any restraints to NUSA DC Leadership teams (DC or Ops Managers)
- Issue purchase orders to co-packers
- Identify supply workload constraints and communicate constraints with NUSA DCs
- In conjunction with Corporate QA, complete “always clear forms” for release of non-consumer products
- Complete and provide monthly report of extraordinary labor chargebacks to DC Leadership and finance teams
- Collaborate with appropriate co-packers to establish a production schedule in order to meet production timelines based on Division requirements
- Review internally to ensure “on-time” project execution
- Collaborate with supply planners to determine OT for production of materials, when needed
- Provide cost analysis for labor, supplies, and material costs to supply planners or Division partners for new projects through an internal tracking process
- Create yearly vendor contracts for local in-house DC co-packers
- Participates in network continuous improvement projects to include future state initiatives
- Ability to flex work schedule to meet demands of co-packing business
- Other projects and duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- B.A./B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, or other related field, preferred
- OR 3-5 years of relevant experience
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant operational experience in one or several of the following areas:
- Cost control
- Procurement
- Factory planning, Factory Logistics, Supply Planning positions such as Manufacturing Production Planning & Control (MPS) or Manufacturing Production Scheduling (DPS)
- Supply Chain development
- Helpful to have had exposure in Customer Service / Customer Facing Supply Chain
