Job Description
We are looking for an experienced warehouse supervisor to manage and oversee all warehouse activities in our Hartford, CT warehouse, ensure efficient processes, and maximize warehouse productivity. The warehouse supervisor's responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating logistical processes, ensuring the quality of goods, and preparing relevant documentation. We are looking for an experienced individual with knowledge in the Final Mile Delivery Industry and is ready to take the next step in your career.
About the Position:
- Sunday to Thursday 6 pm to 2:30 am shift
- Manage different types of logistics (warehousing, final mile delivery and pallet distribution)
- Manage a structure of employees in warehouse / administrative / driving
- Develop and launch strategic organizational initiatives
- Communicating with customers and transportation partners during shift
Requirements:
- Proof of Identity and Authorization to Work in the United States
- Knowledge of the tri-state area, specifically CT and MA is a must.
- Excellent Computer, Verbal, Written and Communication Skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a constant changing environment
- Ability to work both independently and effectively in a team environment
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Degree in business, management, logistics or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar management position.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
- Time management skills and the ability to delegate.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Trained in the use of stand-up and riding forklifts.
Job Duties:
- Oversee drivers and internal staff with day-to-day operations
- Overseeing receiving and dispatching procedures for shipments
- Assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Associates
- Communicating with customers to answer shipping and receiving questions and troubleshoot problems
- Monitoring inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
- Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained
- Monitoring Warehouse Associates to ensure safety procedures are being followed when operating forklifts and other machinery
- Hands on work ethics
