Job Summary:
Team Leader plans daily activities and directly supervises crew of small to medium size installation project(s) and/or assigned project section(s). Acts as direct liaison between NET100 personnel and client contact, with a heavy emphasis on quality control and customer satisfaction. Ensures effective on-the-job training of crew and performs timely and accurate job administration functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compliance and on-site enforcement of all required company safety standards;
  • Plan, direct, and control on-site activities of small to medium size installation projects and/or assigned project section(s);
  • Monitor job material quantity and availability to ensure maximum efficiency;
  • Ability to build telecommunication closets;
  • Terminate and test copper cable (Cat-5E through Cat-6A) and optical fiber;
  • Demonstrate/Perform correct installation procedures for copper and fiber placement;
  • Install communication outlets in floors, walls and utility poles;
  • Identify and apply knowledge of Universal color codes;
  • Configure cable tests and properly operate cable test equipment;
  • Oversee and perform site surveys and project cutovers;
  • Mount equipment racks, termination hardware, and lace frames;
  • Install cable in conduit systems;
  • Properly label cable per NET100 standards;
  • Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and a teamwork approach;
  • Understand and interpret technical data using various computerized systems and tools;
  • Comprehend and apply manufacturers’ instructions and information;
  • Ability to explain procedures; read and develop flow charts;
  • Ability to understand and develop work plans and evaluate options for multiple solutions;
  • Read analytical information and write in a legible and precise manner;
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others;
  • Demonstrate/perform correct Firestop Installation;
  • Demonstrate/perform the proper use of tools to install small to medium cable in conduit systems (Demonstrate knowledge of cable pathway configurations (i.e. trunklines, horizontal and vertical backbones, underground-copper and fiber);
  • Demonstrate/perform the correct method of blueprint reading;
  • Demonstrate/perform the correct method of installing various innerduct systems;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience using advanced hand tools;
  • Experience in applying universal color codes;
  • Good training and instruction skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and positively influence work groups;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in understanding cable designations and types;
  • Ability to plan, direct, and control small to medium size installation projects and/or assigned project sections;
  • Adherence to regular attendance, and normal scheduled hours. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule determined by client site requirements i.e. early morning and/or evening hours.

Education and Experience:
  • Up to two (2) years’ experience in the low voltage industry including, but not limited to, pulling, terminating, splicing, installing, testing, and troubleshooting twisted pair copper cable and fiber optic cable. Demonstrated ability to lead and/or motivate other technical personnel;
  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Complete Hilti training and certification provided by Hilti/NET100;
  • Vocational/Technical/College preparatory, basic mathematics, and interpersonal skills and communication courses desirable; BICSI Installer II Copper/Fiber a plus;
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift objects and carry up to 40 pounds.
Demonstrate/Perform correct use of body mobility functions such as standing while working, walking, climbing and lifting/performing tasks on a ladder with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs., crawling, and use of basic/advanced hand tools, while wearing protective equipment and gear.
