Title: Lab Operations Technician
Location: Summit, NJ
Duration: 12 Months (Extendable)
This role is 100% ONSITE
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, Business Hours
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Calibration
• Manage, schedule, and escort vendors for equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance.
• Review vendor contracts to ensure service adherence and cost-effectiveness.
• Most equipment managed includes pipettes, centrifuges, shakers, welders (training provided).
Consumables & Inventory Management
• Order, stock, and maintain lab consumables.
• Implement and maintain 5S organization principles.
• Ensure inventory availability without backorders.
Lab Organization & Continuous Improvement
• Maintain 5S standards and drive efficiency in lab organization.
Electronic Documentation
• Use of e-documentation systems (e.g., VIVA, Maximo, Blue Mountain) for document management.
• EDMS/e-QMS familiarity is a plus, but not mandatory.
Must-Have Skills:
• Inventory management experience.
• Vendor escorting and scheduling.
• Calibration scheduling.
• Electronic document management experience (any system, VIVA preferred but not required).
Preferred Skills:
• Customer service background in lab environments.
• Operational efficiency planning, budget awareness.
• Experience with asset management software (CMMS systems).
• Knowledge of 5S, organization, and procurement processes.
Education Requirements:
• Minimum: AA degree relevant lab experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in science-related field (less experience acceptable with a BA).
• Science background preferred due to lab familiarity.
• Resumes should better reflect lab operations, organizational skills, inventory handling, vendor coordination, and basic documentation management.
• Candidates with CMMS or ADMS experience (1 year) are acceptable even if not specifically Maximo or Blue Mountain.
