Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and instrument table for surgeries.
- Ensure all required instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and functioning properly.
- Assist the surgical team by passing sterile supplies and equipment, holding retractor devices, and anticipating the needs of the team.
- Perform surgical counts and manage surgical specimens following protocols.
- Disassemble and clean surgical instrumentation post-procedure.
- Follow infection control policies and regulatory standards.
- Focus on gynecological surgery
- Patient Population: Female surgical patients
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Number of Beds: 5
- Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited or other nationally accredited surgical technologist program.
- Certification as a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or completion of formal military surgical technology training,
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of infection prevention and sterilization standards.
- Proficiency in sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of human anatomy and surgical procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with surgical and central sterile processing teams.
