Systems Engineering Manager (DIRECT HIRE)
Location: Portland, OR
Salary: $125000-$150000/annually
Role Specific Responsibilities In
The purpose of the Systems Engineering Manager is to drive company value by overseeing the design, development, and integration of complex systems that meet the needs of customers and stakeholders.
The systems engineering manager has a combined understanding of both systems engineering and best practice management.
Systems include the following:
- Electrical – Industrial control panels, design, build, and support
- Hydraulic – Industrial hydraulic systems focused on Hydraulic Power Units (HPU's) and supporting equipment

- Team and Talent - Responsible for building and developing a team to support growth of sales
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop and implement Engineering best practices
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Manage budget and resource allocation for engineering projects
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies
- Impeccable communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies
- 6 years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex engineering projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements
- Organizational skills with experience with project management.
- Experience with advanced engineering tools and software
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in engineering tools and software including AutoCAD
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Must be familiar with PLC Programs (Seimens or Allen Bradley)
- Client interfacing experience is required
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - with a focus on hydraulic and electrical control systems.
