We are seeking two highly qualified Emergency Room Nurse Managers to join our leadership team. These roles will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Emergency Room department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Job Summary
The Emergency Room Nurse Manager will ensure the efficient and high-quality care of patients in the Emergency Department (ED) by providing leadership, managing staff, and overseeing daily operations. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes, as well as fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership: Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care by operationalizing evidence-based practices to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and adherence to established standards of care.
- Staff Management: Oversee staffing needs, including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Manage personnel to ensure proper coverage and support across shifts.
- Patient Care: Provide direct support to nursing staff, offering clinical expertise and guidance to ensure excellent care delivery in the ER. Ensure compliance with unit-specific standards of care.
- Coordination of Unit Operations: Oversee daily unit operations, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal staffing levels. Manage safety protocols, unit goals, and departmental operations.
- Employee Development & Coaching: Provide leadership, coaching, and counseling to staff to promote professional development, enhance team performance, and maintain high standards of patient care.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, and other hospital departments to improve patient care delivery and resolve complex care issues.
- Quality & Compliance: Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes to ensure that the department meets or exceeds performance metrics and quality standards. Address patient, visitor, or physician complaints professionally and promptly.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Tennessee or a compact state.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required. At least 1-3 years of related clinical leadership experience required.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle complex patient care situations effectively.

- Direct Reports: 45 (Emergency Room staff, including both full-time and PRN employees)
- Total FTEs in ER: 64 (including PRN staff)
- Work Location: Hermitage, TN
- No Weekends: This position does not require weekend shifts, offering a great work-life balance.
