As a Manager of Central Sterilization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and compliant reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays, vital to the smooth functioning of the hospital’s surgical and procedural areas.

You will oversee a team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of sterilization and infection control, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Direct, plan, organize, and evaluate staff and activities of the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring adherence to Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, and AAMI standards.
- Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the sterilization process, ensuring the proper reprocessing, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and trays.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure that all sterilization procedures meet regulatory standards and facility policies, maintaining an environment of continuous improvement.
- Staff Development: Lead, train, and mentor a team of Sterile Processing Technicians, fostering an environment of accountability, professionalism, and safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of sterilization supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing waste.
- Collaboration: Work closely with surgical teams, infection control, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless coordination and best practices in sterilization processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of management experience, preferably in a sterile processing or healthcare-related setting.
- Certification: Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT) required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited vocational school or equivalent.
- Additional Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on compliance, quality, and continuous improvement. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
