Job Title: Respiratory Therapist – RRT/CRT
Location: Gainesville, FL
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering, setting up, and maintaining a variety of respiratory therapies and equipment, including oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilators. The Respiratory Therapist will assess, reassess, and ensure proper patient care, effectively communicating with physicians, patients, and team members. A key part of this role involves performing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs), providing care across a variety of critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and operate ventilators.
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gas (ABG) tests.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and medications, adjusting care as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques.
- Work effectively within a healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and management.
- Recognize and report any signs of abuse or neglect in patients.
- Provide support in critical care units (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU) or long-term care settings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, or Critical Care). Experience in home care or long-term care may also be considered.
- FL State Respiratory License.
- NBRC – RRT or CRT certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
Shift Information:
- Nights (Rotating Weekends)
- Evenings (Rotating Weekends)
Additional Benefits:
- Sign-on bonus: $25,000 for both Evening and Night shifts.
- Shift Differentials: Nights: $3.25, Weekend: $2.00.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Experience in critical care settings is highly preferred.
- A team-oriented approach to patient care and communication is essential.
