Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Emergency Services to lead the Emergency Department in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will oversee the operations, growth, and development of the department, ensuring high-quality patient care and effective resource management. This position involves leading a team of skilled professionals and collaborating with various hospital departments to drive patient satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department.
- Ensure consistent delivery of quality care to patients by monitoring and improving clinical outcomes.
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of healthcare professionals, including managers and nursing staff.
- Actively participate in departmental, hospital-wide, and community service initiatives.
- Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient experience and employee engagement.
- Manage staffing, training, and recruitment efforts to ensure the department meets its clinical and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Foster strong relationships with other departments and leadership to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate departmental performance through a continuous quality improvement program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Emergency Services required.
- 3 years of leadership experience in a large-scale Emergency Department preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and industry standards.
