Shift Lead

Description

The Shift Lead is responsible for maintaining production lines in running conditions, trouble shoots all faults and is responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and process standards. This is a full-time role, reporting to our Production Manager. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Technician responsibilities

· Responsible for the technical state of all production lines during shifts

· Reports all technical problems to the FlexNet Technician 

· Coordinate with the line operators 

· Follows start up, restart and changeovers procedures and fill out all pertinent forms.

· Uses production reporting tools to manage scrap (quality), faults and line speeds.

Shift leader responsibilities

· Support and develop safety initiatives.

· Monitor all production processes to ensure a quality product, raw material, conversion, and finished product.

· Assure that only high-quality products are being produced.

· Plan, execute and manage daily work to meet production schedules.

· Direct and supervise employees on a daily basis with minimal support of manager.

· Develop employee skills and provide cross training for all critical job functions

· Creates and maintains reports for all Shift production operations.

· Support Lean Manufacturing activities to reduce waste in the value stream.

· Lead and/or facilitate company teams to improve operations, solve problems and optimize processes.

· Area cleanliness and organization – includes all storage areas in Production.

· Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.

· Fill in for other production areas (short term) if needed. 

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

HS diploma.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

2 to 4 years’ college or 2-4 years of manufacturing experience as a technician.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor employees.

Fluent in English

· Advanced mechanical skills.

COMMENTS:

· Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Must be physically able to work standing and walking for the duration of the shift.

Salary : $20 - $22
