GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for providing support services to clients receiving crisis residential services under the direction of clinical and medical staff in these areas. Also provides personal care services as indicated to clients in residential settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ALL AREAS):
1. Monitors client’s well-being performs client observation rounds and documents observations and interactions in electronic health record. Monitors and reports on location and activities of all clients in the facility throughout the shift.
2. Assists with dangerous and potentially dangerous situations and takes appropriate measures to assure client/worker safety. Takes initiative to interact with client and to help clients feel as comfortable as possible while at Netcare, in a trauma informed capacity.
3. Provides exceptional customer service to clients, visitors, coworkers, and other professionals.
4. Documents and bills appropriately for all client interactions.
5. Functions as a valuable member of the treatment team.
6. Attends and participates in all department meetings as scheduled by management.
7. Maintains competencies by staying current on all required and mandatory trainings without prompting.
8. Maintains productivity standards as determined by management.
9. Reviews email and internal mail delivery daily and responds if needed in a timely manner.
10. Based on Netcare need, and at the direction of supervision, QBHS may be relocated to temporarily cover a staffing vacancy in another department. For example, a Residential QBHS may be moved to Crisis, and a Crisis QBHS may be moved to Residential program. In this case, the QBHS is expected to adhere to the job description of the area assigned.
11. Performs other related duties as required.

11. Prior to or within 90 days of hire, must be able to demonstrate the minimum competencies in basic mental health or substance use disorder and recovery skills identified below. Basic competencies include at minimum an understanding of:
(a) mental illness and substance use disorder treatment and recovery;
(b) The community behavioral health system, social service systems, the
criminal justice system, and other healthcare systems;
(c) Psychiatric and substance use disorder symptoms and their impact on
functioning and behavior,
(d) How to therapeutically engage either with a person with mental illness or a
person in substance use disorder treatment and recovery;
(e) Crisis response procedures; and,
(f) De-escalation techniques and an understanding of how the individual’s own behavior can impact the behavior of others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: BA/BS in mental health/social services field;
Required: H.S. Diploma or Associate Degree in mental health/social services field. Experience with mental health/drug and alcohol, and/or crisis intervention services preferred. Basic computer, telephone, and exceptional customer service skills required.
