Position Summary:
As a Seafood Specialist, you’ll provide expert guidance to customers on selecting the finest fresh fish and seafood. You'll be responsible for cutting, weighing, packing, and maintaining the freshness and quality of the seafood products. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Assist customers with selecting seafood and provide cooking and preparation tips.
- Fish Preparation: Slice, fillet, and prepare fresh fish for sale, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Product Knowledge: Offer expert knowledge of fish products, including types, tastes, preparation methods, and pricing.
- Inventory & Stocking: Ensure products are properly stored, stocked, and rotated for freshness and quality control.
- Sanitation & Safety: Follow safety protocols, use gloves when handling food, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Sales Support: Operate scales, wrap, and package products per customer requests.
- Equipment Checks: Regularly inspect refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report any issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in the food industry required; seafood or fish cutting experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong knife skills (filleting and trimming seafood) and basic math skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.
- Customer-Focused: Friendly and professional attitude with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.
Pay Rate:
- $17 per hour – Negotiable based on experience
