About the Role
Join the EE Architecture & Systems Engineering team at Volvo Trucks, where innovation drives the development of next-generation electrical and electronic system architectures. We’re seeking a System Design Lead to focus on Bodybuilder Functionality and Driveline Integration, contributing to the electrification and automation of heavy-duty vehicles.
In this highly collaborative role, you will lead the design of systems that integrate power take-off (PTO) and driveline features for conventional, electric, and autonomous platforms. From early concept through to system delivery, you will help shape the future of commercial transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the system design and development of vehicle electronic architecture related to Bodybuilder integration and driveline controls.
- Define and propose system-level design concepts, including electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including component owners, technology leaders, product owners, and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain roadmaps for bodybuilder functionality and driveline integration systems.
- Conduct vehicle diagnostics and network analysis, utilizing tools for on-vehicle data collection and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate design reviews, manage system-level specifications, and ensure alignment with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in system architecture through innovation and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
- 5 years in commercial vehicle, automotive, or related high-tech industries.
- Strong understanding of Electronic Hardware/Software Architecture, and system-level design.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Familiarity with tools for software development, diagnostics, and aftermarket support.
- Experience in agile environments (e.g. SAFe) and working across global teams.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, SFMEA, and product assurance tools.
