Purpose of Position
The Safety Specialist position assists the Manager, Voluntary Safety Reporting Programs and Director, Aviation Safety in the execution of the comprehensive NetJets Safety Program. This includes reviewing, evaluating and processing safety reports, analyzing data, assessing risks and making recommendations on how to minimize the risks involved in NetJets flight, dispatch, and maintenance operations .
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager, Voluntary Safety Reporting Programs and Director, Aviation Safety in development and execution of the NJA safety programs through :
- Evaluate, analyze and process safety reports submitted to any of the NJA administered Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP) including but not limited to :
i) Investigating the issues raised in each safety report
ii) Make recommendations to management regarding changes to policy, procedures and practices to enhance safety
iii) Collection and analysis of policy, maintenance records, and fatigue assessments to determine if safety enhancements are available or warranted.
iv) Provide collected materials and analysis to the ASAP ERC.
v) Act and speak on behalf of NJA as the ASAP Event Review Committee (ERC) representative on a rotating basis.
vi) Administer corrective actions in response to ASAP ERC findings.
Participate in, or conduct research into irregular events occurring during NJA flight operationsResearch and analyze trend data in the NetJets Safety Program and other industry data.Track ASAP related safety recommendations and corrective actions to ensure that follow-up actions have been taken that are effective. Determine if the actions have been effective and if not, make recommendations for additional changes or corrective action.Contribute to the production of Safety Alerts and the NetJets Aviation Safety Newsletters.Acts as an information conduit to bring safety of flight issues to the attention of management and to deliver safety information to NJA employees.Note : It is not possible to list all required job duties on this form.
