Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist(s) with the provision of pharmaceutical services to patients. This includes, but is not limited to: preparing, packaging and delivering medication; compiling and processing drug shipment orders; managing medication, equipment and supply inventories and maintaining files and records.
Primary Scope Of Responsibilities
Guaranteed Hours: While we cant guarantee hours on our contracts, your traveler will be scheduled for around 36-40 hours per week. We do not downstaff, so they are essentially guaranteed hours.
Misc: Not accepting any RTO Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8k elevation)

Job Overview:

Primary Scope Of Responsibilities
- Annual IV Media Fill Test/Annual Handwashing requirements
- Mobile Isolation Chamber Training/ Chemo/Hazardous Drug Handling Competency
- Ordering and receiving medications from suppliers. Inventory control of medications.
- Handles drug shortages, recalls, and order errors
- Receives, processes, bills for and sends out orders from clinics and departments
- Performs monthly unit inspections throughout the facility, which includes managing monthly medication outdating of departments, Pyxis machines, Pharmacy stock and crash carts
- Monitors and maintains daily appropriate drug storage temperatures and conditions and manages Pyxis drug entries, loading, restocking, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, accurately prepares and delivers medications (oral, IVs, and chemos) to appropriate care areas.
- Fully competent in primary role on unit; performs patient and family assessment and problem identification, plans care accordingly, implements and evaluates plan of care so that problems are resolved.
- Adheres reliably to all accepted patient safety standards.
- Identifies and promotes new learning around changing patient safety standards of practice.
- Makes value-added resource decision for patient care with respect to supplies, equipment and acuity of care.
- Records pertinent clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and hospital policy.
- Adheres to federal, state and hospital rules and regulations concerning HIPAA privacy and security.
- Follows Hospital compliance plan and policies, including the Code of Conduct.
- Participates in required training for compliance related activities (HIPAA, Compliance, Patient Safety, TJC, etc.)
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional decision making.
- Develops professional goals and diversity of responsibilities within practice; consistent with hospital mission and goals
- Demonstrates role awareness and seeks individualized/department specific continuing education that improves patient care or professional practice.
- Able to express values around patient/family centered care and assists others to achieve shared understanding.

- Able to state his/her duties during a code pink drill.
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail
- Relatively high degree of analytical abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Ability to work independently
- Pharmacy Technician Certification required
- BLS certification
