The Role:

AMD's EPYC Server team is actively seeking a Data Analyst/Engineer that can combine operational data from multiple data sources to recognize trends, anomalies, and patterns to improve operational efficiencies & provide predictive analysis. Data sets will vary from budgetary, engineering (power) utilization & optimization, and “Planned vs. Actual” analysis.

The Person:

Must understand communication is key and be a motivated self-starter! Must have a personality which takes an objective view of dynamic problems, looks at problems holistically, and be willing to investigate/question data. Can approach an abstract problem and help identify solutions analytically using data sets to provide a clear picture to leadership of options of how to address various scenarios.

Must have the desire for continual learning and self-education. Works independently with minimal direction. Enjoys brainstorming with others, takes on action items openly, and is willing to take on tough assignments. If you do not know the engineering or budgetary lingo being discussed, you must be willing to educate yourself to bring depth to future conversations.

Qualified candidates must be able to provide examples/portfolio representation of their presentation skills (visual and oral). Having a creative aptitude goes without question!

Key Responsibilities:

• Will work side-by-side with the hiring manager to address challenges by identify operational inefficiencies within a rapidly growing organization. Topics will vary from budgetary, server hardware distribution within a global organization, to evaluating power efficiencies within a data center. Every day will bring new challenges and new problems to solve.

• Brainstorm openly with the leadership team to define and investigate quantifiable problems with existing data to generate actionable work items for teams to solve.

• Create Power BI Dashboards from data generated from AMD developed software.

• Produce Power Point presentations that help simplify complex problems into an easily digestible format.

• Create charts and graphs that demonstrate creativity and uniqueness when conveying information. Not looking for standard Excel based graphs when conveying data.

• Produce dashboards to depict “Plan vs Actual” with real-time data

• Investigate anomalies in data and have the ability to problem solve with others.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst/Data Engineer. Having experience in the tech industry is a plus but not required.

• Proficient and skilled with generating and creating PowerBI based dashboards with real-time data.

• Must be a wizard with Power Point and Excel and experienced with producing clear and concise reports.

• Adaptable communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly for senior executives and individual contributors / stakeholders at all levels

• Experience with cross-organizational project work and with building relationships to enable influence

• Strong organizational skills

• An understanding of the importance of team dynamics

• Strong acumen and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and ensure compartmentalized communications when required

Academic Credentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a technology related field.

• Relevant Credentials and Certifications obtained (e.g. CAP, Google Data Analytics Professional, CDP, CompTIA Data , etc.)
