The Assistant Project Manager position at NCS collaborates with the Project Manager and the field staff on project execution. It is responsible for assisting with project coordination of materials, schedules, project close and site readiness. The position also works in the field to complete projects and assist with On-the-Job Training (OJT) of field personnel. This is a hybrid role between field work and project management to develop the skills required to manage multiple projects in the future. As a hybrid function this role serves as the “eyes” of the project to communicate progress and potential issues. The Assistant Project Manager interfaces with project management, estimating and the field personnel to improve the planning and execution of projects to achieve performance targets.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Represent NCS with professionalism and integrity
- Assist with the scheduling of field resources to meet project requirements established by the PM and Client POC
- Monitor/manage changes to schedules as circumstances dictate
- Assist in the generation of material requisitions for established Bill of Materials requirements
- Aligns tasks with material availability to ensure project schedule expectations
- Evaluates material inventory to support project schedules
- Creates final as built mark ups to provide for creating final customer drawing package for assigned projects
- Prepares the project close out package with the project administrator for customer sign-off
- Evaluates site readiness for execution of project task schedules
- Coordinates site access and badging of personnel
- Coordinates availability of testing and/or other specialized equipment to meet project schedules
- Maintains and ensures project/site quality levels and NCS expectations are achieved
- Conducts project task execution
- Assist in developing field skills development with coaching and hands on OJT with field personnel
- Assist in skills training during onboarding of new employees as requested
- Provide daily status report as required
- Attend site meetings and walk throughs as requested to interact effectively with customers/ contractors
- Follow NCS procedures and policies
- Work effectively in team environment
- Perform all functions of the position and other duties that may be assigned

Skill Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 5 of years’ experience working in construction, industrial or related blue-collar industry with proven record of achievement. 2 years’ experience working at NCS preferred
- Ability to learn new software as Ability to use MS Office a benefit
- Ability to use mobile applications
- Current, valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to travel if required
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Excellent verbal communication and good written skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
