Job Description:
The SME Network Engineer will be a key personnel role supporting our customers' Enterprise Remote Access Solution, focused on designing, deploying, and sustaining secure network architectures leveraging guidance from the NSA CSfC program. This role requires expertise in advanced networking technologies, network security, and secure communications to ensure system compliance with federal cybersecurity and infrastructure policies.
This role is critical to the success of a enterprise CSfC deployment and will involve sustaining, modernizing, and securing the remote access network infrastructure while supporting Zero Trust implementation.
Requirements:
- U.S Citizenship required.
- This role is fully onsite (5days / week) in Washington DC.
- Occasional travel will also be required to data centers and field offices.
- Current Top-Secret Clearance with the capability of obtaining SCI / CI Poly
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10 years of experience in of experience in network engineering and security.
- Strong background in CSfC, TIC 3.0, and Zero Trust.
- Experience in designing and implementing SD-WAN, VPN, and MPLS networks.
- Expertise in Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Fortinet networking technologies.
- Experience working in federal government or DoD environments.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies.
- Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Microsoft AVD.
- Understanding of enterprise IT policies and governance structures.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow for IT asset management and compliance tracking.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CCNP or CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Professional/Expert).
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
- Security (CompTIA Security ).
- JNCIA/JNCIS (Juniper Networks).
Responsibilities:
Network Architecture & Engineering:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures for classified and unclassified environments.
Configuration & Optimization:
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN appliances for high-availability and secure remote access solutions.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure network compliance with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC), and NIST 800-171.
Integration & Automation:
- Implement enterprise network monitoring and automation tools for proactive threat detection and mitigation.
Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS):
- Support integration of cross-domain solutions for secure data exchange across classification levels.
Technical Documentation:
- Develop and maintain network topology diagrams, SOPs, and security accreditation packages.
Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
- Lead network troubleshooting efforts, respond to cybersecurity threats, and coordinate disaster recovery planning.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with IT leadership, vendors, and government partners to ensure seamless network performance and compliance.
