Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned individual to lead our security efforts and safeguard our assets, personnel, and business operations. The Director of Security will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to protect the organization's physical assets, personnel, and information. The director will oversee a multidisciplinary team and ensure that all security measures align with business objectives.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
- This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in McLean, VA
- This position may require occasional travel
- Availability for on-call support is required for incident response
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, physical security, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, physical security measures, and compliance standards (CMMC, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience in incident response and managing security incidents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic security plans.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of security professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Security Strategy: Design and enforce a holistic security strategy that covers physical security, personnel security, and information security.
- Physical Security Management: Ensure the protection of physical assets, including offices, data centers, and other facilities. Oversee access control systems, surveillance, and security personnel.
- Personnel Security: Implement and manage programs to ensure the safety and security of all employees. Conduct background checks, security training, and awareness programs.
- Information Security Management: Collaborate with the CIO and CISO in the design and implementation of cybersecurity measures (CIA-Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability), including appropriate security controls. Monitor and respond to security breaches and incidents.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address security threats. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as CMMC, NIST, ISO 27001, PII, GDPR, and HIPAA. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Incident Response: Lead the incident response team in identifying, containing, and resolving security incidents. Conduct post-incident analysis and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
- Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a team of security professionals. Foster a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with security vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and oversee the implementation of security solutions.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver security training programs for employees. Promote security best practices and awareness within the organization.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management and the board of directors on security risks, incidents, and overall security posture.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with US Federal and Department of Defense security policies and standards.
- Familiarity with modern security tools and technologies
- Understanding of physical and personnel security measures and practices
