What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Account Director - Grocery, Convenience and Retail position at Network Distribution?
The Corporate Account Director – Grocery, Convenience & Retail, will be charged with contributing to the establishment of Network as the leading North American corporate account selling organization by targeting and closing new business, and by growing existing, strategic customers. The growth and maintenance of these accounts will be achieved by collaborating closely with customers, suppliers, internal staff, and Network distributors. Overall primary responsibility includes prospecting and selling to net new customers and achieving annual national Sales targets across the US for the assigned accounts. The CAD will also be responsible to: understand, design, and manage a complex business model with multiple shareholders across a wide range of ‘Retail’ businesses, which include – Grocery/Foodservice/Convenience Stores/Non-Food Retail, and others.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prospect, develop and close net-new corporate account sales in the Grocery, Convenience & Retail segment.
- Develop, implement and execute annual business plans with existing customers to achieve sales growth plans and deepen our value with strategic customers.
- Improve customer profitability for existing customers.
- Utilize effective operational models for Network, its members, and customers.
- Identify, build, and execute a plan to develop relationships that are both deep and wide in customer organizations.
- Effectively and professionally manage accounts through the sales process from their starting date in the Salesforce pipeline, through account implementation, and beyond.
- Effectively navigate the complexities of the engagement and coordination of the constituents and business processes involved in managing Retail corporate accounts by effectively working with: internal NETWORK staff, Members, and customers.
- Build, and effectively utilize, close relationships with targeted NETWORK members, specifically executive and operational management, and senior sales team members.
- Successfully manage the administrative and business functions of creating sales presentation documents, reporting, and managing annual travel and expense budgets.
- Create and facilitate regular customer business reviews that include identifying strategies for business growth.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams responsible for executing strategic accounts operational annual plans, including product development, sourcing and implementation.
- Manage and develop a Business Development Specialist, with the responsibility of hunting and closing new opportunities across the segment, inclusive of, and beyond, the CADs area of responsibility.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Proven record of sales results in a multi-location, multi-regional or national account environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong listening skills
- Strong understanding of financial metrics and operational functions within retailers, Network members, and customers
- Ability to manage and lead effectively cross-functionally in a complex environment
- Demonstrated collaborative team approach to consultative selling
- Independent, initiative-taker with strong organizational skills
- Exemplary presentation and meeting facilitation skills
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Work History Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years’ key customer sales experience in Grocery, Convenience or Retail customer sub- segments
- Prior experience in Distribution and/or manufacturing in a sales role
- Education Requirements:
- 4-year college degree in Business or related field
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Selective facilitation/supervision/leadership of key customer development and management projects, and action plans. Leadership within cross-functional teams occasionally with: customers/members/suppliers/NETWORK staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light to moderate lifting
- Must be willing to travel up to 65% as needed, with a variable weekly travel schedule
- Must live within 1 hour of a major airport

The Anticipated Salary Range for This Position:
$145,000 to $180,000
Network has established a salary range for this position based on a combination of market data, industry standards and specific requirements of the role. The actual starting salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills and abilities.
