This is an in person internship where you will gain hands-on experience in an office setting! The Technical Support Intern will gain exposure to end-user computing (desktops, laptops, thin clients), workplace technology (printers, scanners, conference room AV), and mobile devices (iPhones, Androids). Additionally, you’ll assist in monitoring systems, performing daily checks, and ensuring that user requests are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Assist with customer support: Respond to internal customer requests through Help Desk Tickets, phone, email, or in-person inquiries, providing basic troubleshooting assistance for a range of issues.
  • End-user support: Assist users with issues related to hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices), operating systems (Windows/macOS), and software (Microsoft 365, Zoom, etc.).
  • Collaboration with the IT team: Work with the IT team and vendors to resolve more complex issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Ticket and queue management: Help track and manage tickets and monitor service levels to ensure prompt response times.
  • Basic troubleshooting: Support password resets, user lockouts, and basic desktop support, aiming for high first-call resolution without escalating to Level 2.
  • Workplace technology support: Assist with setup and troubleshooting of conference room audio-visual equipment, printers, and other workplace technologies.
  • System and software support: Provide assistance with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and related tools, ensuring smooth functionality for end-users.
  • User education: Offer guidance to users on best practices for desktop security, malware prevention, and efficient use of software tools.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions, documenting steps taken to resolve issues.
  • Team collaboration: Participate in team meetings, shadow experienced technicians, and provide assistance with IT projects and initiatives.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to interact effectively with end-users and IT team members.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude and willingness to help.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows OS and macOS troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Office 365.
  • Ability to follow directions, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize requests based on urgency and impact.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take initiative and ask questions to deepen understanding of IT systems and processes.
  • A desire to learn and grow within the IT field.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, actively volunteers for various projects, tasks and assignments
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast- paced changing environment -- multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 

  • Education Requirements: Currently enrolled in an associate's or bachelor's degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirements: No prior professional experience required, but some technical troubleshooting experience (whether through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships) is a plus.

 

OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

Our highly engaged internship program allows you to focus on projects related to IT that will help prepare you for your career. You’ll also get to collaborate and get to know interns in other functions to gain key business skills and help you succeed in the corporate world. As a capstone to the internship program, you will have the opportunity to present your summer experience and projects to our executive leadership team.

This is a PAID internship. Interns will work a 40 hour work-week schedule at $18/hour.
