What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Supply Technician position at Network For Hope?
At Network for Hope (NFH) the Central Supply Technician is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, and distribution of medical supplies and materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels, while providing the highest level of customer service to NFH staff. This position receives, processes, and delivers supplies from the NFH warehouse to the clinical location. This position is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the NFH supply and clinical areas for safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory and Supplies Management
- Receive and unload materials, including hand stacking and pallet stacking of supplies.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet stackers, pallet jacks, dollies, and ladders to unload and move materials.
- Perform technical supply management tasks including inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock, records, and/or materials to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels in accordance with pre-established par levels for materials and supplies.
- Conduct regular physical inventory and equipment checks to ensure proper use, sterility, cleanliness, and that expired materials are removed.
- Perform regularly scheduled inventory counts to ensure physical inventory matches inventory records.
- Track materials and equipment using web-based purchase order systems, email, and inventory/supply management software.
- Maintain supply areas in compliance with NFH and regulatory standards.
Biohazardous Materials Management
- Package and prepare medical waste for pickup in accordance with DOT standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and cleaning as needed in assigned clinical work areas.
- Document and maintain accurate cleaning records to ensure compliance and safety.
Other Duties
- Maintain reporting systems to ensure accurate data is available for cost management.
- Follow all established health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Make recommendations to improve cost efficiency, quality, and update systems as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
Experience: 1 year of experience in inventory control, warehouse, supply chain, materials management or similar position required. 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Basic knowledge of medical/surgical equipment preferred.
