We are seeking a full‐time Application Scientist to work out of our corporate office in Burlington,
Massachusetts in the Netzsch Instruments Applications Laboratory.
About our Company
NETZSCH Instruments North America, LLC is the U.S. subsidiary of a well‐established, mid‐sized German company which primarily deals in the manufacture and sale of state‐of‐the‐art instrumentation for Thermal Analysis, Rheology, and the determination of Thermo‐physical properties of materials. As a complement to our product lines, we also provide Commercial Testing Services. We have commercial testing centers in Germany, the United States and China.
Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Primarily focus on measurements of customer samples by means of various methods including but not limited to Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Thermomechanical Analysis (TMA), Dielectric Analysis (DEA), Capillary and Rotational Rheometry, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). When applicable, testing is performed following ASTM and ISO standards.
- Sample preparation, instrument operation, data evaluation and technical reporting.
- Troubleshooting and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Support of laboratory QA activities and ISO compliance.
- Provide application and technical support to customers as well as the sales, and service.
- Generate technical papers, presentations and application notes, including occasional travel for conferences, seminar presentations, and customer training.
Skills and Specifications:
- Advanced skills in communication, organization, prioritization and time management.
- Experience or strong interest in thermoanalytical, thermomechanical, and rheological measurements is strongly preferred.
- Ability to meet project deadlines with great attention to detail.
Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum BS in physics, engineering, chemistry or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience.
