Neu-Ion is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing high purity water systems company. The ideal candidate will embody the Neu-Ion values of teamwork, reliability, integrity, proactive and care.
The primary role of the Neu-Ion Sales Estimator is to be responsible for providing detailed project estimates, quotes and bids for the sales team to submit to customers. The Estimator will work directly with company Management, Operations, Sales and Vendors to ensure the projects are accurately estimated including project pricing, cost of materials, cost of labor and gross profit. This position will be counted on to act independently and take ownership of company results. Your performance will play a crucial role in Neu-Ion’s success. While the exact responsibilities may vary, the main duties of the Estimator can be summarized as follows:
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze project requirement documents, drawings, specifications to gain a thorough understanding of projects to provide estimate
- Work with Engineer and Sales Team on complex or customized projects to ensure work is properly scoped and costed
- Ability to assess and evaluate all influencing factors that affect project cost
- Generate detailed cost estimates of Neu-Ion projects including Vendor costing of parts
- Improve estimate process including forms, related software, and automation of process to drive efficiencies
- Visit work sites, inspect existing conditions, and gather data related to materials and labor costs
- Create cost comparisons with historical data of similar projects
- Solicit cost estimates and quotes from Vendors or Contractors
- Assist with estimates of change orders to current projects
- Meet deadlines for submission of estimates, quotes and bids. Get estimates or proposals to sales team in a timely fashion to review and submit.
- Complete and submit proposals
- Attend customer discovery calls and proposal review meetings with Sales team as required
- Attend project hand off meeting with Operations to ensure smooth transition to project kickoff
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Work with Sales Team to manage bids from contractors and end users
- Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compile and record actual costs
- Assist on post project analysis with Operations to ensure cost accuracy of future projects
- Provide estimate/bid updates in CRM as needed
- Attend Sales L10 meetings and complete assigned company sales rocks
- Assist on ad hoc projects
- Work with Purchasing to update and maintain price list
- Assist Purchasing in sourcing including new vendors or expanding relationships with existing vendors
- Assist Inside sales rep for sourcing new bid opportunities
Requirements:
Experience/Education:
2 years of Estimator experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
