Quality Assurance (QA) Tester
We are seeking a motivated QA Tester to join our quality assurance team. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the high quality and reliability of our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate has experience with testing procedures and methodologies, basic database knowledge, and hands-on exposure to QA tools such as Postman for API testing. Familiarity with automation testing (e.g., Selenium) and accessibility testing (JAWS, Section 508) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning & Execution
- Develop, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and mobile applications.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to validate application functionality.
- Ensure adequate coverage of all features and capabilities within the product.
2. API & Integration Testing
- Use Postman or similar tools to test and validate RESTful APIs.
- Identify, document, and track API defects and performance issues.
3. Database Testing
- Validate data integrity using basic SQL queries in relational databases.
- Execute basic NoSQL database operations to verify data accuracy and consistency.
4. Automation Testing (Plus)
- Utilize Selenium or equivalent automation tools to develop automated test scripts (where possible).
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
5. Accessibility & Compliance Testing (Strong Plus)
- Conduct accessibility reviews and tests using tools such as JAWS and other assistive technologies.
- Verify compliance with Section 508 standards and other accessibility guidelines.
6. Defect Management
- Log and track defects using the team's chosen defect management system (e.g., Jira).
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to ensure timely resolution of issues.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive test reports, including bug reports, test coverage metrics, and release notes.
- Communicate testing progress, issues, risks, and results to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in QA testing for web and mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing processes and methodologies.
- Database: Basic SQL for relational databases, familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- API Testing: Experience using Postman to create and execute test cases.
- Automation: Knowledge of Selenium or other automation tools is a plus.
- Accessibility Testing: Familiarity with JAWS, WCAG guidelines, and Section 508 compliance is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
