Learning and Development Manager Position Overview:

The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. They assess developmental needs within branch positions, identify knowledge and skill gaps, and identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate and enhance the performance of all staff, focusing on professional development and continuous learning.

Essential Job Functions

Management

  • Manage the learning and development (L&D) team, including but not limited to recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to support knowledge and skill development within the ODL department.
  • Establish an inclusive environment that enables staff to be innovative while effectively balancing risk and opportunity.
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of processes within the ODL department.
  • Follows NeurAbilities’ Policies and Procedures.
  • Follows Federal, State, and local rules and regulations pertaining to medical and behavioral health services.

Training Management

  • Implementing and maintaining Learning Technologies in support of Talent Development initiatives.
  • Managing the company's Learning Management Systems (LMS), including but not limited to troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, creation, and implementation of training resources for the company, and activation/deactivation of employees.
  • Managing the design and development of high-quality, innovative, and effective learning programs and solutions in various delivery formats.
  • Managing and maintaining orientation and annual training plans for all company positions.
  • Managing training communications (emails, alerts, releases, etc.), guaranteeing thorough, well-informed, and timely communications to all applicable recipients.
  • Creating, managing, and implementing training compliance and protocols for all instructional and eLearning materials, including content publication standards, course nomenclature, process adherence, user permissions, and role designation.
  • Updating and maintaining all style and implementation guides, ensuring that changes to department standards are approved by the VP of People Operations.
  • Managing the company's Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS), including but not limited to troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, creating and implementing training resources for the company, and activation/deactivation of employees.
  • Managing and maintaining new hire and annual training plans for all company positions.
  • Managing training communications (emails, alerts, releases, etc.), guaranteeing thorough, well-informed, and timely communications to all applicable recipients.
  • Assisting teams with the implementation and rollout of Learning Management Systems.

Instructional Design

  • Designing, developing, and updating creative, learner-centered, performance-based training materials (using the Human Performance Improvement approach) that can be delivered using face-to-face, virtual classroom, and self-directed eLearning modules.
  • Creating/updating population profiles for roles and departments within the company
  • Working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop creative, innovative, and visually appealing learning products (job aids, charts, checklists, infographics, and multimedia videos) along with subject matter or functional specialty areas.
  • Reviewing and approving training materials created by company employees; modifying materials, as needed, to ensure that they meet the learners' needs and department standards.
  • Creating, managing, and implementing training compliance and protocols for all instructional and eLearning materials, including content publication standards, course nomenclature, process adherence, user permissions, and role designation.
  • Evaluating instructional materials during audits focusing on documentation, location accuracy, and the quality of content, discussing recommendations for improvement with the Manager, and making changes where applicable.
  • Updating and maintaining all style and implementation guides, ensuring that changes to department standards are approved by the VP, People Operations.
  • Diagnosing office and department learning needs and recommending/implementing targeted, strategic performance improvement learning solutions that support business and talent priorities.

Training Evaluation

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of learning solutions, courseware, and programming and utilizing evaluation data to implement changes.
  • Initiating training program evaluations in alignment with department standards. Compiling and sending data to the VP, People Operations, for review and analysis.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • BA/BS in HR, OD, HRD, or related field, preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare organization
  • 4 - 6 years of combined educational and/or work experience in a learning or organizational development capacity. A minimum of 3 years must be work experience.
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience managing training and instructional design projects.
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience designing synchronous and asynchronous training.
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate, Storyline 360, Camtasia, and Go Animate.
  • Experience with Learning Management and Learning Content Management Systems
  • Experience with WebEx Enterprise.
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud Apps
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and models.
  • Knowledge of the foundational learning theories of behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism.
  • Knowledge of learning technologies.
  • Knowledge of human performance improvement.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models and processes.
  • Knowledge of facilitation methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the criteria used to assess the quality and relevance of instructional content in relation to a desired learning or behavioral outcome.
  • Knowledge of principles of knowledge management, for example, conceptualizing, managing, preserving, and/or maintaining organizational knowledge.
  • Skill in developing learning and behavioral outcome statements.
  • Skill in organizing and synthesizing information from multiple sources, for example, databases, print, and online media, speeches and presentations, and observations.
  • Skill in identifying the type and amount of information needed to support talent development activities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to focus on client needs by anticipating, understanding, and responding appropriately to the needs of internal and external customers to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.
  • Ability to effectively communicate externally as well as internally with all communication styles and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to lead change and innovation.
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement programs.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to provide feedback and recommendations from quantitative and qualitative data.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Estimated 10% travel, dependent on need.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
  • This job operates in both a professional and home office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include light-medium moving and extensive self-positioning
