Technical Media Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Technical Media Manager leads the Technical Media team, overseeing the development and documentation of software processes for distributing operational and maintenance documents in both digital and print formats. This role is pivotal in managing a large-scale software implementation program, collaborating closely with IT and external partners to ensure successful execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with IT, stakeholders, and both internal and external implementation partners to plan, execute, and manage the implementation of a Content Management System (CMS).
- Define, document, and refine CMS processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supervise the integration of ArborText and CMS into Technical Publications development and distribution workflows.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive CMS training plan for the company.
- Create and update handbooks, procedures, and user manuals for software tools used within the department, including Windchill, Arbortext, and Creo Illustrate, to facilitate new hires' orientation and skill acquisition.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all electronic content, output, and information architecture.
- Provide regular reports, budget inputs, and set yearly goals aligned with company objectives; communicate these goals to the team.
- Coordinate with IT, Marketing, and external website hosts to enhance the deployment of Technical Publications on the company website and authorized service center websites.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and quality controls for Technical Publications systems, ensuring compliance with FAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Continuously seek improvements in documentation and service delivery.
- Manage and mentor Technical Publications team members, overseeing career development, resource allocation, staffing, and performance reviews.
Qualifications

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience with Content Management and Knowledge Management preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in Technical Communication preferred.
- 5 years of experience with XML authoring, particularly in Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA), preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and reports preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, PTC Creo View, DITA, and PTC Windchill, or similar Product Data Management systems preferred.
- Experience with PTC ArborText and CMS strongly preferred.
