Role Description
As a Brain Injury Specialist (BIS), you will have a key role in providing assistance and support to individuals with acquired brain injury. This is achieved by providing individualized, patient-centered care in home and community-based settings. The BIS helps guide our clients in developing adaptive strategies to gain optimal independence and reduce/eliminate maladaptive and problematic behaviors. At Neuro RehabCare, we help with cognitive, physical, medical, behavioral, and psychological rehabilitation.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, sociology, or healthcare-related field
- Applicants taking coursework toward a healthcare degree are encouraged to apply
- Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record
- Must pass state and federal background checks, pre-employment drug screen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy, positive relationships with individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
- Additional certifications such as CPR, First-Aid, Dependent Adult/Child Abuse and Medication Manager are helpful but not required.
