Job description
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs®) provide direct, one-on-one behavioral interventions to children and young adolescents diagnosed with autism to teach communication and social skills. Registered behavior technicians (RBTs) are paraprofessionals who implement ABA treatment plans that are created by board certified behavior analysts (BCBAs). RBTs work consistently and directly with people on the autism spectrum. NBCG provides all the required training, certification, and credentialing requirements for selected applicants to become Registered Behavior Technicians! We are looking for several full time behavior technicians (30 hour per week) to join our South Ogden and Bountiful team.
Responsibilities (all under supervision of BCBA®)
- Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationship with clients and caregivers
- Completing skill acquisition procedures using Discrete Trail Teaching (DTT) as written
- Completing skill acquisition procedures using Naturalistic Environment Teaching (NET) as written
- Using function-based strategies to prevent challenging behavior
- Using function-based strategies to respond challenging behavior
- Communicating with caregivers regarding clinical progress
- Communicating with supervisor regarding clinical progress, suggestions, barriers to treatment, scheduling, and other items relevant to treatment
- Accurately recording data for skill acquisition and challenging behavior
- Responding to novel challenges using behavior-analytic techniques
- Writing comprehensive session notes following each session with a client
- Perform daily living needs of children. This can include but not limited to: changing diapers, clothing, washing hands, and assistance in toilet training.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred
- No experience needed NBCG will train and certify
- Full time availability, 30 hours per week, with a minimum hour requirement of 25 hours per week
- Availability in the afternoons 3:00pm to 8:00pm
- Must attend a once-a-month 2-hour Saturday training
- Reliable transportation: this position is center and home based, traveling to multiple locations is required
- This is not a temporary position
