About the Role :
Under direct supervision and independently, performs routine duties by following established policies and procedures to support a drug development laboratory. Performs a wide variety of laboratory tasks and may receive training to perform basic experiments.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to) :
Assembles / disassembles product development laboratory equipment - blender, mill, roller compaction machine, compression machine, coating machine, encapsulation machine for experiments and cleaningCoordinates equipment service, preventive maintenance, and repairCoordinates a laboratory schedule for experiments occurring in the laboratoryMay perform R&D drug product manufacturing and experiments under scientific directionPerforms physical characterization of solid oral drug products and intermediates under scientific directionCleans laboratory equipment and glasswareMaintains laboratory inventory and suppliesOrganizes equipment and instrument spare parts / change parts and tools / toolingMoving laboratory equipment and auxiliary components as neededPerform limited troubleshooting and calibration of equipment and instrumentsCollaborates with facilities / operations for waste disposal and laboratory upgradesReceives training to perform essential functionsStocks and works with colleagues to order laboratory suppliesWorks with the late-stage drug product development team to understand team needs and optimization of laboratoryMay write experimental reports, summaries, and protocolsMay develop and maintain notebook for record keeping of experiments performedFacilitates lab tours with new hires and visitors as requiredOther duties as assignedRequirements :
It may be preferable that this person has a flexible schedule so they can either start early in the morning to set up equipment and prepare the laboratory for the scientists and the experiments ahead of time, or stay late to clean up the laboratory after completion of experimentsHigh School Diploma (Associates degree in chemistry or related degree, including lab classes, preferred)No related experience required; Previous research lab experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry is preferred, but not essentialGood organizational and computer skillsBasic knowledge of Excel and creating / managing spreadsheetsBasic knowledge of laboratory processes, notebooking, and safety proceduresBasic knowledge of equipment supplies (electrical, water, air...)Basic knowledge of chemistryDevelops skills to perform basic activities in own jobLearns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasksParticipate in group meetingsStrong attention to detailLI-OB1
