Neurodiversity in the Workplace is partnered with a Fortune 500 construction company that is hiring paid interns for Summer 2025. This opportunity is available through the company's neurodiversity hiring program, which replaces the traditional interview with a skill demonstration to address the hiring barriers often experienced by autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, and other neurodivergent candidates.
Position Overview
As a proposal coordinator/graphics intern, you will participate in the development of proposal documents in response to requests for Statements of Qualifications, Proposals, and Client Presentations for infrastructure clients. During this internship, you will learn about solicitation and proposal development processes.
The successful candidate will be a capable verbal and written communicator, have an interest in engineering and construction, and bring excellent organization and follow-through abilities. The role allows you to develop a multi-faceted set of skills, such as writing from primary and secondary sources, interviewing technical experts, working as part of a team, exposure to meeting facilitation, and the ability to plan and manage your time in an extremely deadline-driven environment.
District Overview
Infrastructure Proposal Services is based in Lone Tree, Colorado, and provides best-in-class proposal support services to Infrastructure and Engineering Districts. This intern position is temporary, starting in May or June 2025 and lasting for approximately eight weeks.
Location
This position is based out of our Lone Tree, Colorado office.
Responsibilities
• Assist in developing content for non-technical proposal sections from reference materials and/or interviews with subject matter experts
• Assist in coordination and development of proposal sections with oversight from Proposal Manager or Sr. Proposal Specialist
• Assist in the production of hard copy and electronic proposal documents
• Learn to work with graphic designers to translate narrative concepts into supporting graphics
• Learn to manage deadlines and responsibilities assigned through responsibility matrix
• Learn to recognize areas in proposal to recommend graphics
• Assist team in developing work product that meets solicitation requirement and compliance objectives
Qualifications
• Current active pursuit of Undergraduate degree in English, Technical Communications, Liberal Arts, or Business
• Basic knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite (experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and active listening skills
• Ability to work with different personalities, and take direction from senior staff
• Ability to meet deadlines while coordinating development of multiple proposal sections
• Strong self-organization and time management skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work well with professionals from various backgrounds
• Ability to deliver quality work that meets requirements and deadlines
• A focus on teamwork – ability to listen, collaborate, and communicate among colleagues, internal customers, and team partners
• Willingness to learn and grow, with a desire for constant improvement

Base Compensation: $17.00/hr - $23.00/hr
