Description
Job Summary:
The Research Assistant (RA) will support several clinical trials and studies. The RA will provide study-related services ranging from participant recruitment, coordinating, creating/managing databases, completing source documents and case report forms, and data entry. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position supports clinical research activities in clinical and hospital settings. The qualified candidate may be required to undergo hospital credentialing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Communicates clearly with study investigators, sponsors, internal leadership, IRB, and others regarding study protocols, recruitment, etc.
Performs screening with potential participants and schedules visits.
Understands visit schedules, inclusion/exclusion criteria and protocol requirements for routine and low complexity trials (e.g., questionnaire, data registry, scripted).
Reviews patient records.
May attend recruitment events.
Develops flow sheets, source documents, and other study related documents.
Regularly maintains, modifies, releases, or similarly affects human-subjects research records.
Prepares/reviews documents and compiles data for regulatory requirements.
Assists research staff by completing research protocol related tasks.
Assists in preparing studies for closeout, (e.g., packing files, documenting files for storage, shipping extra supplies back to sponsor).
Ensures study information is kept secure and confidential.
Ensures compliance and ethical standards are maintained throughout study support.
Provides any other duties and responsibilities as determined by management and physician leadership.
Abides by all HIPAA and confidentiality regulations and policies.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be attentive to detail,
Demonstrate a strong history of working in a team environment,
Ability to multi-task,
Have effective communication skills and customer service.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and three years of health care, customer service, or administrative support experience OR
Three years of health care, customer service, or administrative support experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 10 pounds.
Ability to walk and/or stand for significant amounts of time.
