Position Title: Assessment Specialist
Type: 1099 independent contractor position
Position Summary
The Assessment Specialist will conduct full biopsychosocial assessments of patients' mental health needs, collaborating with clinicians, and determine the recommended appropriate level of care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health assessment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health challenges.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments of patients entering the PHP/IOP program to evaluate their mental health status, including psychiatric history, current symptoms, substance use, medical history, and other psychosocial factors.
- Administer standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews to gather relevant information for treatment planning and diagnosis.
- Collaborate closely with therapists, psychiatrists, and other members of the treatment team to formulate individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Document assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
Background, Licensing Requirements
Qualifications
Experience:
- Current unencumbered license in Ohio
- Experience conducting mental health assessments in a clinical setting, preferably with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic criteria for mental health disorders and experience using DSM-5 for diagnostic purposes.
- Familiarity with evidence-based assessment tools and instruments commonly used in mental health settings (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, C-SSRS).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse populations, including individuals from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with colleagues from various disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in the provision of mental health services.
Regulatory Requirements
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Masters Social Worker or other Master’s Level Licensed Therapist whose scope of practice under the State Licensing Board in Ohio authorizes their ability to provide group, individual and family psychotherapy.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology from an accredited university.

- Must possess good oral and written communication skills in the English language.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75.00 - $125.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
